The 5 rial/riyal coin is a circulation piece of the Republic of Yemen. It was issued in a single type by the Central Bank of Yemen from 1993 to 2004. The piece currently holds a legal tender face value of 5.00 Yemeni rials.

The coin is composed of stainless steel and measures 4.5 grams in mass, 22.9 millimeters in diameter, and 1.7 millimeters in thickness. It has medallic alignment; raised, undecorated rims; and a plain edge, and is icosihenagonal (21-sided) in shape.

The headquarters of the Central Bank of Yemen in Sana'a is solely displayed in the center of the coin's obverse.

Written on two lines in the middle of the reverse, inside a solid circular border, is the face value "ريالات ٥‎" (5 Riyālāt), with the numeral "٥" (5) shown in larger print than the word "ريالات" (Riyālāt). A stylized rendering of the Arabic name of the Central Bank of Yemen, "البنك المركزي اليمني" (al-Bank al-Markaziyy al-Yamaníyyun), is engraved along the rim above, extending counterclockwise from the piece's lower left to lower right boundaries. The Islamic date of minting is printed at the bottom of the piece, followed by the equivalent Gregorian date. Both years are represented in Eastern Arabic numerals and divided by a small dash. They are separated from the name of the Central Bank of Yemen by two lines, which extend from the coin's rim to the border encircling the face value.

The total mintage of the Yemeni 5 rial coin is currently unknown. Only business strikes are reported to have been produced during all four years of production: 1993, 2000, 2001, and 2004.
