The 500,000 ruble banknote was issued in Transnistria during 1997 during a period of high inflation. It was the highest value of Transnistrian currency ever produced.
The note was predominantly colored purple. It had a width of 125 millimeters by a height of 57 millimeters. Displayed on the obverse was the monument of Alexander Suvorov in Tiraspol, while the reverse showed the Transnistrian Government building of the Transnistrian Parliament also located in Tiraspol.
