The tetartemorion (Greek: τεταρτημόριον[1]) was a silver coin of Ancient Greece that held a value of ¼ an obol.[1][2] The coin was issued in Athens and a number of other Greek city-states, with each city-state producing its own designs. It was coined very rarely because its value was so small, making it very difficult to use.[2]
