The 1 mark coin was a notgeld coin issued by the Free State of Saxony in 1921, during the hyperinflation in the Weimar Republic.

The coin is composed of brown porcelain and measures 25 millimeters in diameter and 3 millimeters in thickness. A ship sailing on water is featured on the obverse, with the year of issue inscribed above and the logo of the Staatliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Meissen GmbH, which consists of two crossed swords, featured below. The first two digits of the date (19) are separated from the last two (21) by the ship's mast. A "1", which represents the coin's value, is featured in the center of the reverse, flanked to the left and right by looped lines. Above the value is the title "SACHSEN" (the German name for Saxony), and below it is "MP", an abbreviation for "Meissen Porcelain".
