The 5 kalahar banknote was a specimen note printed by Namibia in 1990. It was originally produced to be a denomination of the proposed kalahar currency, which was intended to replace the South African rand within the country. However, the plan of the kalahar eventually came to an end, and the 5 kalahar note was never issued.

The obverse, which was red and purple in color, displayed on oryx. Depicted on the reverse, which was predominantly blue in color, were road graders.
