The 50 pya banknote has been issued by Myanmar since March 27, 1994. It is the lowest value of all Myanma currency, with a value of 0.50 kyat, and are rarely seen in circulation along with the 1 and 5 kyat notes due to their low values.
The note has a width of 110 millimeters by 55 millimeters in height. Its obverse, which is purple and orange in color, features a saung, The reverse, which is multicolored, displays a Guilloché pattern along with the value. For security, the banknote includes a watermark reading "BCM".
