The 100 lei banknote was first printed by Moldova in 1992. It was first issued during September 1995 and is still in circulation today.
The note is predominantly orange in color, and measures 121 millimeters in width by 61 millimeters in height. Displayed on the obverse is an image of Stephen the Great. Depicted on the reverse is the Cetatea Tighina in Bender with Trajan's Column and The Endless Column. For security, a watermark, security thread, and a translucent feature were implemented.
