The 1 gosler coin was issued by the County of Lippe in 1601, during the reign of Count Simon VI (1554–1613). It had a value of ½ a pfennig, or 1172 of a thaler.

The coin is composed of silver, and like most coins is round in shape. It weighs approximately 0.15 grams and measures roughly 13 millimeters in diameter. The Lippische Rose, the symbol of the House of Lippe, is shown inside a circle on the obverse. No illustrations or lettering is present on the reverse of this uniface coin.
