Johann Konrad Richthauser Freiherr von Chaos was an Austrian alchemist and mint master.
Biography[]
Richthausen von Chaos was born on November 27, 1604 in Vienna, Austria. He became involved with the study of alchemy, and later became the Münzmeister of the Austrian Mint and Brno Mint. In 1650, he introduced the embossing roll to the Austrian Mint, though it had been tested several years earlier. On July 25, 1663, Richthausen von Chaos died in Schemnitz at 58-years-old.
