The 50,000 peso banknote was printed by Mexico from 1986 to 1990.

It was predominantly purple in color, and measured 155 millimeters in width by 67 millimeters in height. Depicted on the obverse was Cuauhtémoc, leader of Tenochtitlan. Shown on the reverse was "La Fusion De Dos Culturas" (The Fusion of Two Cultures) sculpture made by J. Gonzalez Camarena.
