The Malacca keping was the currency of the Straits Settlement of Malacca from 1831 until the introduction of the Straits dollar in 1909. Only coins were produced for the keping.

Coins[]

There were only two denominations of coins minted, at 1 and 2 keping. All coins displayed a rooster on the obverse and the value on the reverse. Most of these were composed of copper; however, a brass issue is known to have existed. The mining of coins eventually ended during 1839.
