The 50 dollar banknote was first issued by Namibia during 1993. Since then, notes have also been printed during 1999 and 2003. Though the 50 dollar note has not been printed for eight years, it still remains in circulation in Namibia.
The banknote is predominantly green in color. It has a width of 140 millimeters by a height of 70 millimeters. Displayed on the obverse is an image of former Namaqua Chief, Hendrik Witbooi with the Tintenpalast and the coat of arms of Namibia. Shown on the reverse are three Greater Kudus with the flag of Namibia.
