The 5,000,000 leu banknote was issued by the National Bank of Romania from 1947 to 1952. Of all the denominations that have been used by the leu, this had represented the largest amount.
The note was yellow and brown in color. Its obverse featured the Capitoline Wolf and its value, while the reverse featured maids and again its value.
