The 5 centavo coin of the convertible peso was issued by the Republic of Cuba from 1994 to 2013. It has a value equal to 0.05 convertible pesos, or approximately $0.0019 "national" pesos.
The coin is composed of nickel-plated steel. It weighs approximately 2.6499 grams, and measures 18 millimeters in diameter and 1.5 millimeters in thickness. Pieces minted from 1996 to 2013 have coin alignment, while those produced during the year 1994 are medallically aligned. The coat of arms of Cuba, which consists of a shield supported by oak and laurel branches, accompanied by a Phrygian cap atop a fasces, is displayed in the center of the obverse. Above is the state title "REPUBLICA DE CUBA" (English: "Republic of Cuba"), and below is the date and the value "cinco centavos". An image of a colonial house is depicted on the reverse, accompanied by the caption "CASA COLONIAL" and the value "5¢".
