Barry Stanton is a British designer, engraver, medalist, and sculptor. He is known for designing various coins and medals, particularly during the latter half of the 20th century.


Stanton was born in 1943 in Mansfield, England. After completing his education at the City and Guilds of London Art School, he has worked at various mints, including the Royal Mint, Pobjoy Mint, and Franklin Mint.

During his career, Stanton has designed coins for a number of countries and dependencies, including Fiji, Gibraltar, the Isle of Man, Jersey, Kuwait, Liberia, Malaya and British Borneo, Somalia, Tonga, Tristan da Cunha, and Zimbabwe. His work also includes several commemorative medals.

Stanton is currently a designer for the Goldsmiths' Company and resides in Forestdale, a neighborhood of southeast London.
